CAN SMART IRRIGATION BRING A DRASTIC CHANGE IN AGRARIAN SOCIETY?

SO WHAT IS THE MAIN BARRIER WHILE PRACTICING AGRICULTURE?

In the present era one of the greatest problems faced by the world is water scarcity and agriculture being a demanding occupation consumes plenty of water. Therefore a system is required that uses water judiciously. Smart irrigation systems estimate and measure diminution of existing plant moisture in order to operate an irrigation system, restoring water as needed while minimizing excess water use.

By observing the scarcity of water overlapping with the agricultural demand my team has proposed an methodoly of smart irrigation.

THE SOIL MOISTURE SENSOR!

WHAT IS SOIL MOISTURE SENSOR?

A Sensor-based automated irrigation system provides a promising solution to manage agricultural activity. This research article provides a vast study on the
irrigation system in smart agriculture. The soil moisture based irrigation control uses Tensiometric and Volumetric techniques, which are relatively simple but these quantities are related through a soil water characteristic curve that is specific to a soil type. Also the sensors used require routine maintenance for proper performance. Intelligent automatic plant irrigation systems concentrates watering plants regularly without human monitoring using a moisture sensor.
